Ring group delay

I’m using a ring group to hunt with 2 extensions. If a call comes in and the first extension is already busy, it tries the second. If both are busy, the call hits voicemail.

The problem is that if the first extension is busy, there is a delay of 3 rings before the call hits either the next extension or voicemail. So if both extensions are busy and a new call comes in, the caller hears 3 rings and then voicemail. It sounds as if they’ve been hung up on.

Is there any way to bypass the 3-ring-delay and have the call go immediately to the next destination?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you looked at possibly using Queues, which gives you more options as to skipping busy extensions or different time values? Just a thought.

For a pair of extensions, try sending the call to the second extension (instead of voicemail) by using the Optional Destinations and setting the “Busy” destination to your second extension. Be sure to turn off Call Waiting.
