We are trying to set up the ability to have certain extension be able to page all phones in case of an emergency. Has anyone done this? I know how to set up a paging group but noticed that the suggested limit is 20-25 extensions (we will have about 300 when finished setting it up) and I’m not sure how to keep everyone from being able to page the whole organization.
If your phones support it, look into multicast rtp/paging.
Regular paging 300 phones would take 300x80kb bandwidth if you use ulaw, pretty well guaranteed it won’t work as you expect it to.
