Restore really old FreePBX backup onto latest FreePBX?

Hey,

First time post here, please be gentle

Is it possible to have a fresh install of latest version of FreePBX and then restore an old backup onto it? I am talking about backup from FreePBX v2.8.1.5…Sounds crazy to myself but still want to ask here.

Please advise.

No, you need to update FreePBX incrementally and can only restore onto the same generation of FreePBX 2.11 to 2.11, 2.10 to 2.10 etc.

So I guess in order for me to use the latest FreePBX, I need to incrementally upgrade FreePBX from my ancient 2.8 to 4.x and there is no way to simply restore the data?

As I said . . .

(there is no 4.x)

okey…Thanks.

What u mean there is no 4.X? I just downloaded FreePBX-4.211.64-7-x86_64-Full-1379605000 and it is not 4.x?

Sorry, I am pretty new to the FreePBX world…

The FreePBX Distro (Track 4: 4.211.64 you just downloaded) is based on FreePBX 2.11 (as the number 211 in its name says), Asterisk (1.8, 10 or 11 selectable/switchable) and CentOS 6.4 (32 bit or 64 bit).

On the FreePBX Wiki you will find a lot of nice informations about that, among other interesting things.
