I just noticed that, using the port I opened in my router, I was connected directly to the Admin GUI. I then looked for a way to set a timeout for the GUI login to prevent someone connecting to the port and bypassing the GUI login but havn’t found it. How do we prevent some one from connecting to the GUI after we have logged in and then disconnected?
It is unwise to allow GUI access to your system from the Internet. The GUI was not designed to be exposed to the Internet.
Another option is to setup SSH access to your system on a port other than 22 and tunnel over the SSH connection to gain access to the GUI.
I am sensing you are correct. I think I will suggest a login timeout setting in any case.
