Reload failed because retrieve_conf encountered an error: 1

Today I started getting the messages pasted below while trying to “Apply Configuration Changes” Can someone please shed some light on what maybe the issue.

[FATAL] Failed to get engine_info retreive_conf failed to get engine information and cannot configure up a softwitch with out it. Error: ERROR-UNABLE-TO-CONNECT

I can confirm the same problem happen suddenly;
FreepBX 2.4.0

After fresh install of 1.3
i ran update-scripts, update-source, and update-fixes, and paswd-master
in that order
then i went into module admin - update all -process
everything appeared to install correctly
when i click apply configuration changes i get the following message:

Same Problem here after updating Freepbx 2.5.0 and all modules to newest Version today…

i have the same issues any solution ?

although I was installing on a fresh system? any quick way to fix this?

fresh to 2.5.1 that is… running 1.2.24 asterisks on debian lenny

ahh … I googled it and you have to do a

amportal start

everything seems to be fine…
