I would like to use the autopause=yes feature of Asterisk. Is there any method for doing this in FreePBX? It appears not.
What about workaround or development? This is pretty necessary for me.

I think I figured this out. It seems I can add to the context by using queues_custom.conf and adding a line for autopause=yes for each queue where I need autopause.
