is there a way to do a backup or at list retrieve all my configs with the gui not working ?

Yes but that’s another rabbit hole, if you want to try, the backup tarball works on the the mysql databases in /var/lib/mysql , the asterisk sqlite3 astdb database in /var/lib/asterisk/ , the files in /etc/asterisk/ and /var/www/html/admin and a couple of files in /etc/. Explore an old backup to see.

maybe this can show that it is a freepbx distrib i am using :

Do you know in what directory i can find my backups ?
Also, is there a sort of phpmyadmin installed with the freepbxdistro ?

A You will find your backups wherever you directed the backup/restore module to put them.

With respect, I don’t think you were yet ready for your “cdrom:/kickstart-advanced-ast” choice.
