Problem with Ring Group Announcements

Every time I set a ring group announcement and call the ring group the call is dropped. I have tried other WAV files including one currently in use in IVRs. As soon as I remove the announcement the ring group works fine. I also have the same problem with “Follow me” announcements. Has anyone ran into this? FreePBX 2.2.1

Thanks

I am using G729 which I paid for and is legit. This seemed to start happening after I upgraded my asterisk version. Is there something that has to be done after upgrading?

Philippe,

Could you please give instructions on how to paste the logs your requesting.

Thanks

I also got the same problem.

Announcments in ring groups makes my pbx hang up.
Not all the time but very often.

When I use the flash panel it seems to hang up every time.
Really strange.

I got around this with using ques, the it works fine.

ring groups with announcements work. That does not mean there may not be a bug or other issue somewhere. It sounds more like corruption or related in your recordings (that module had its issues). However - there is not enough information provided to help. You really need to get on the IRC and pastebin up your cli trace - or toss something here to initially review.

nope - you say you can use the same sound file for an ivr but it fails on the ringgoup? How is the call coming into the ringgroup or followme? If it is coming from a queue - then the annoucment would be removed - otherwise it should be ok.

The call is coming into the ringgroup from an IVR but if I call the ringgroup directly it does the same thing - Drops the call when I have an anouncement set - works fine with no anouncement set.

if the sound file works in an ivr it should work fine in the followme and ringgroup. You should get onto the IRC at #freepbx and pastebin a cli trace to see if someone can tell you what is going on with your setup.

I’m having the same problem. I had to remove all ringgroups from my IVR and use queues only. This happened after I updated my trixbox system to 2.2.
