Problem Kernel 2.6.32-642.6.2.el6.x86_64, not boot system!

As you see in the title, the problem is that when you upgrade to the latest version of kernel (2.6.32-642.6.2.el6.x86_64), the system will not start.

With the previous version (2.6.32-504.8.1.el6.x86_64) if it starts correctly.

By selecting the new kernel in Grub and give boot, black screen with a flashing cursor on the left side of the screen superio stays.
Now you can be a time that does nothing.

This occurs after updating with the following script:
FreePBX Distro 10.13.66-17: https://upgrades.freepbxdistro.org/stable/10.13.66/upgrade-10.13.66-17.sh

The installation is working under Virtual Box 4.3.38 (106717).

did you ever get any resolution on this?

I upgraded from 6.12 and had the same problem with the .0 release. Luckily the prior version kernel came up and I could continue the upgrade.

Hi.
Now I use the version of Virtual Box 5.0.32 (112930) and everything works ok.

Gotcha…
I’m running it on an actual physical server.
