Regardless of the type of email relay I keep getting an error regarding disconnect while performing a EHLO handshake. Doesn’t matter if I use internal or external SMTP server. Am I looking at a firewall issue here?

lost connection with mta5.am0.yahoodns.net[67.195.228.94] while performing the EHLO handshake)
status=deferred (lost connection with alt1.aspmx.l.google.com[108.177.12.26] while performing the EHLO handshake)

Change debug_peer_level to 3 in /etc/postfix/main.cf and try again. The log file will hopefully tell you why it’s failing.

I’ve also solved this by increasing the message_size_limit in main.cf.
