PJSIP and match permit

If a provider has a couple IP on their A record and also a valid SRV setup, I know all of those addresses will be used for outbound calling as well as be accepted for inbound calling.

All I need to do is use the FQDN in the trunk setup like pop.bobtelco.phone.

What about match/permit? Those addresses are only used for inbound to my understanding correct?

yes but I wouldn’t categorize it as you mentioned
“all of those addresses will be used for outbound calling as well as be accepted for inbound calling

in cases such as these where the carrier specifically says our calls may originate from an address in this CIDR range I’ve needed that range defined in match permit regardless of having the A record address defined in the trunk

hope that makes sense

Proper SRV records make that not a problem.

Makes sense, but did not answer my question. I worded things poorly, I think.

Will IP addresses or CIDR blocks in the Match Permit, but not part of the A record or in the SRV record, be used to attempt an outbound call?

Match (Permit) is consulted only on incoming calls, to determine whether the call is associated with a particular trunk.

That is how I understood it to be, but wanted a check on my understanding.
