Phone shows Incoming Call every time Sipura re-register

Got Asterisk 1.2.7.1 with FreePBX (beta2) installed and working just fine. However, every once in a while I see my phone (which is connected to Sipura SPA 2002 with latest firmware) lighting up and displaying “Incoming call” when there is no actual phone. I kind of pin point it to re-registration process… My friend, who has a simular config but Sipura SPA 2100 - in his case it also gives a short ring…

Did anybody observe this issue before?

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

I don’t think this is a registration issue, it’s a voice mail issue. Sipura
supports both MWI (Message Waiting Indication) and VMWI (Visual Message Waiting
Indication/Indicator).

Steps to disable those service:

  1. Log into sipura device (http://sipura.ip.address)
  2. Admin Login
  3. advanced
  4. Line 1 (or 2)
  5. On “Supplementary Service Subscription” Section
    Set MWI Serv: to no
    Set VMWI Serv: to no

Apply the changes. This should take care of the problem.

I have the same problem with my Sipura 3000 linked to my TrixBox 1.2.3 with FreePbx 2.1.3. Those false incoming calls do arrive about my Sipura re-registration time. So the re-registration is certainly involved here. While disabling MWI may help, I prefer to have MWI working. Is there any other way around?

Try changing the setting called “VMWI Ring Splash Len” in the "User 1"
tab to zero.

cheers,
Paul.
