You can also perform a disk-to-disk copy.
Keep in mind that an SSD / M2 …etc can be damaged at any time, so it might be a good idea to duplicate your disk to another one.
I’d really want to see an undamaged board, but I’m not convinced that this is a failed capacitor. The original component seems to have been completely destroyed, whereas the type of electrolytic capacitor that normally causes problems is designed to burst safely, on weak lines on the cap.
The silk screen has been damaged, making it difficult to read, but I’m wondering if it is the actual backup battery that has failed. It looks to me as though there may be collateral damage.
generally no longer pth are used, relacing surface mount caps is not easy, but new hardware would be about $150 at Amazon, $80 at Aliexpress
I would disconnect hard drives and memory and bios b attery and see if you progress first though
I think the idea is great. I will try to find the part number. Personally, I believe that replacing the capacitors is a good idea, but it could fail again since I don’t know the condition of the other components
That may be helpful.

There are two things that look wrong in this picture
and need explaining.
In the smaller area, something appears to have failed catastrophically and either has scorched the board in that area, or there are flux residues from manual rework.
In the larger area, a heat sink appears to be missing.
Regarding the capacitor, I honestly have no idea what could have happened. I thought it was just a short circuit due to excess humidity or that the component itself failed after approximately five years of daily use. In the case of the processor, it is embedded in the aluminum structure of the casing, which is responsible for dissipating heat.
In context of the components around it (without having a diagram or device in front of me) its relative proximity to the 77014(voltage regulator) I would guess this took a surge. The power supply should probably gone first but I am guessing it is more resilient. That said repair or replace I would get a new power supply just in case.
Thanks for the advice, I will take it into account.
And why not protect it with a UPS.
