I have Freepbx 13 and 2 external voip gateways (HT503 grnadstreams) with 2 corresponding trunks.
I am trying to use the second trunk if the first is busy and vice versa. Is it possible?

Under Outbound Routes you would be able to select both trunks under the Sequence for Matched Routes.

It is the first thing that I have tried. But when the first trunk to the 1st HT503 grandstream is busy, and a different extention is trying to get an outside line through the outbound route, the second trunk is not used. The extention gets a busy signal.
That is why I ask for help.
Have you tried switching the order of the trunks in your outbound route? Does the second one always fail, or is the problem that the second one isn’t getting used?
That was confusing. I’m going to call the first HT503 Al and the second one Bob.
In your default outgoing route, you have both trunks (Al and Bob) set up as valid destinations.
When Al is first, it gets used. If Al is busy, Bob doesn’t get used. If you switch the order around (a quick “drag & drop” followed by a reload) Do the calls go out through Bob?
I’m trying to get to know if Bob is working at all. If we assume so, there’s an option on the trunks (IIRC) that says “continue to the next trunk if this one is busy”. Is that set?
Since these are DADHI connections (working from memory here) are they set up in DAHDI as a group (G1) or are they set up as individual extensions (R0 and R1)?
It’s been a while since I’ve done this (a couple of years) and I’m not at my server, so I can’t double check how mine was set up, but I think the answer to one of those questions might help ferret out the issue.
