Outbound Rules

Hi,
I’m running asterisk 11.5.0 with the following outbound rule:

exten => _6XX,1,Dial(SIP/11${EXTEN})
exten => _6XX,2,Hangup

How can I strip the first 2 digits after dialing? e.g when ext 11501 places a call to ext 601, the number “501” should be displayed instead of “11501”

Thanks

Are you using FreePBX? If so, what are really trying to do?

Hi, I have two offices located in different parts of the city. The requirement is to have a numbering format where office A has extensions 501, 502 etc and office B has extensions 501,502 etc. i.e both office locations appear to have same extensions but actually they don't. They are differentiated using prefix translation (as shown earlier). However when I dial 501 for example, it appends 11501 (based on my outbound rules) but I want it to be displayed as "501" and not "11501"

Asterisk/FreePBX is not designed to support “multitenenting”, two endpoints can not have the same number.

No but you could put a prefix in front of the extension and just change the display name on the phone. Set an alias for 3 digit dialing locally. Would accomplish the same thing.
