OSS Endpoint Manager FreePBX17

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to get the OSS Endpoint Manager module working on a fresh installation of FreePBX 17, but I am running into issues where it fails to work properly (or crashes during setup/operation).

Given that FreePBX 17 has moved to Debian and PHP 8.2, I suspect there might be significant compatibility issues with older modules, but I wanted to see if anyone has managed a workaround.

What I have tried so far:

  1. Fixes from this forum thread: I followed the steps outlined in this community post regarding crashes, but unfortunately, the solutions there did not resolve the issue for me on version 17.

  2. GitHub Fork: I tried using the vsc55 fork of the module (github.com/vsc55/freepbx_endpointman), but it hasn’t seen an update in about 2 years and also does not seem to function on this version.

Has anyone successfully patched OSS Endpoint Manager to work with the PHP 8.2 / FreePBX 17 environment? If not, are there any community-driven forks or alternative open-source endpoint managers people are using on v17 without jumping to the commercial EPM?

Any guidance, logs to look out for, or alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I’d give it to an LLM coding tool to see what it can do. Keep expectations low.

What specific value are you hoping to get out of OSS EPM? All of the templates in there are ancient.

I tried giving it to an LLM and it fixed some bugs but not all of them

I’m using Cisco 7841 phones and not sagnome and so I need a way to generate the template for this kind of phones

Still pretty new with FreePBX and VoIP in general so there could be a solution that I’m missing
