Hey when you say one way do you mean you can talk to him but he cant talk back to you or is it the other way around?

I can hear him but he can not hear me and he does not have any ringing sounds when he calls out

Does that remote router have SIP ALG or any SIP helper enabled?

Also, you might want to look into securing your PBX, it’s getting a lot of attacks.

From what I see your extensions are using PJSIP. In FreePBX under Applications > Extensions what does it say for the “Type” column for your and his extension? If it says pjsip change the port to 5060 on all phones. Go to Advanced > Asterisk SIP Settings and click detect network and then add field under NAT settings. Save and apply changes.

both partys have sip alg on, and what type of security would you rec for me to have

it says sip under type listed in the photo below

Try disabling it.

Don’t expose 5060 publicly.

ok so i removed 5060 from my firewall is there any other issues you think i should correct and i have also attached the screenshot of my current firewall config

Thanks in advance

i’m going to attach my entire log so you can look threw it if you want and tell me and issues i have with it thanks

no need to if you do not want to just trying to keep secure

Ok we need to lock down some of the factors that can change things. We definitely don’t want something similar to a double nat type of situation. I would keep the SIP ALG off in general.

Can you get a wireshark packet capture? I want to verify the source and destination ports and IP addresses (like the contact header) are correctly listed.

two things to add this this sip alg is off for both partys and two how do i go about capturing a wireshark capture i know how to download wireshark and know what wireshark is just not really how to use it

https://community.freepbx.org/t/unkown-calls-in-cdr-report/57423

i also made another form post tackling the unkown calls in my cdr report if that helps any thanks

how do i go about capturing packets with wireshark on my vmware esxi box with freepbx running on it. i’m under the impression that wireshark must have a network card on the machine to do that. is this correct ?

If the remote extension makes the call, do they have one way audio issues? Or do the one-way audio issues only happen on inbound calls?

Please make another test call and this time do not do asterisk -rvvvvvvvv just do asterisk -r and then sip set debug on then make the call. Make sure the scroll buffer is set large so you can scroll back and copy everything from the moment you entered the console.

The full log is great for looking at how Asterisk processed the call but for things like audio issues a full fledged SIP trace is needed so you can look at all the SIP details in the packet and see if there are responses, etc. Post that when you can please.

this is what i’m getting i believe i did it right

any updae on this

From which firewall did you remove 5060?

And what ports do you have forwarded to your PBX?

Also, did you turn off ALG on both firewalls?

i removed 5060 from my public firewall were the pbx server is hosted and alg is off for both party’s and i have posted a image above of the ports that i have forwarded to my pbx server

Going back to the beginning, I’m not sure you need the rtp in the hosted server portion of your modem or router. I generally get by with just port forwarding the registration port 5160, although I change the outside port so something totally different the the common ports. I let the nat do the work for the RTP ports.
