Ok, Strange one here. Need help/advise

I have a few extension that when I make any change to them and click on “save” the screen goes white and in the left hand corner it says “Hi” in plain text and nothing holds.

On the same PBX I can go into a few other extensions and everything works fine. You click on save, the screen flashes then returns so you can click on “Apply Changes” and everything takes just fine.

Any ideas??

What browser are you using. Chrome and Firefox seem to work better.

I’m using Chrome. But the problem isn’t browser specific. The other ext’s work just fine when modified.

BTT … Any ideas? Is there a manual way to edit the ext files?

I have two different PBX installs now doing this. I’ve tried using two different browsers and also two different machines.

When you click on submit after making any change to an extension it pulls up a blank page that just has “hi” in the upper left corner.

Anyone know what this is??

try browsing in with your phone or pad.
If it works, restart PCs and see if windows was trying to install some updates.

One more thing to add… I can add a new extension and everything works just fine.

That’s not the problem. It’s not PC or Browser related. I can configure a brand new extension and it works just fine. It’s only effecting a few extensions.

Have you totally deleted the questioned extensions and then recreated them?
Could it be that some special/control character or sequence has found its way into one of the text fields in extension setup and your browsers are getting confused?

Thanks, Bill… yeah, I didn’t try that yet. I think that will fix the problem due to creating new ext’s and them working just fine. I was just trying to avoid doing that if possible.

Yeah…I’ve done the same thing. Sometimes you get tunnel vision when trying to fix a problem when the answer is to drop back and punt. End the end, you’ve expended more resources trying to fix the situation than you would have spent by punting. But, we all get into the situation where’s its us vs the machine.

It’s almost like trying to herd cats. Or as a wise man once said…“Never try to teach a pig to sing. You’ll waste your time And annoy the pig.”
