Notifications for missed calls

Hi all!

I want to configure freepbx for send notifications of missed calls.

There is an interesting manual written by Matt Schmandt that looks easy to configure, but I don’t find [macro-stdexten] macro anywhere. The manual is there:

http://www.theschmandts.org/blog/2007/05/05/email-notifications-for-missed-calls-in-asterisk/

Do I have to create this macro? where? Is there any easier way to get this?

Thanks.

There is no mention of FreePBX in this article, so chances are it was written for use with basic Asterisk. Just at a cursory glance, it looks like something that would be difficult to integrate with FreePBX, because as far as I know, there are no convenient “hooks” where such code could be included. However I’m not a programmer, so I may be wrong about that.

One thing you could try is putting a feature request in the bug tracker (at http://www.freepbx.org/trac/newticket ) for an “email notifications for missed calls” feature. There’s no guarantee that it would be acted upon. but it’s worth a shot. Be sure to give the link to the article you mentioned in the feature request, as it may be useful if a developer should decide to implement this feature.

Well, I’m not programer as well but I think it must be posible modifying some contexts, but I don’t know what.

I will try coniguring it myself, and will post any success experience.

Thanks.

Just curious if there was any success here - I am trying to accomplish the same thing.

Thanks!

This would be incredibly difficult to integrate properly with FreePBX. It uses the dial command, FreePBX dials with a macro called dialparties.agi that performs much of the needed magic of FreePBX.
