Non Blocking CID Lookup

Is it possible to have Caller ID Lookups happen in the background during a call. I want to pull CID from my CRM but in case things are running slow I don’t need the CID until after the caller has made it through the IVR. So if the CID Lookup could happen in the background and let the caller enter the IVR it would be plenty of time to update the caller ID if anything is found.
