No audio in both way when using VPN on iPhone


I have FreePBX and OpenVPN running on the same local network. I have a VoIP app on my iPhone call Bria Phone. When I’m in the cell network or away on another wifi network, I can get call with two-way audio. When I turn on OpenVPN, calls can get in but I’ve no audio at all.

If the Bria Phone VoIP app is already running on my iPhone, then I"m able to get calls with two-way audio even with the VPN turned on.

I look over the internet and also this forum and the only thing I’d find is to add the VPN local network which is in the FreePBX local network under SIP Settings. It remain without success.

Need some help please.



Even though it should not be necessary when using a VPN, enable NAT for that particular extension and try again.

It may be necessary to restart Asterisk after changing the local networks.

If you still have trouble, at the Asterisk command prompt, type
pjsip set logger on
(or if your extension is still using chan_sip)
sip set debug on
make a failing test call, paste the complete Asterisk log for the call at and post the link here.
