No Alert Info passing through after 14 Upgrades

Hi

I am using Alert Info to get a distinctive ring on our Yealink T29G phones when a outside call comes in. I have the Alert Info set to MainRing in my Ring Group and this was working properly for several months. After i installed around 24 module updates last Friday the distinctive ring quit working? I have removed and re-added the MainRing to my Ring Group Alert Info and this did not help. I also tried adding it to the DID Alert Info and this also did not help. I am no expert for sure but I do not see the Alert Info information being sent in the logs. The phones do not autoprovision and are not set to auto upgrade so nothing has changed on the phones yet everyone of them (Around 20) no longer have the distinctive ring for outside calls coming in. I am running on this version:

PBX Firmware:
12.7.5-1807-1.sng7

And here is a copy of the Asterisk log file when an outside call was ringing in. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Hello I’m having the same issue

How - show us the syntax of what you are doing?

Hi Dave

Here is a screenshot of my Ring Group Alert Info setting:

And here is a screenshot of the Yealink Ring setup in the phone web config.

As you can see the phone is looking to see the text MainRing in the SIP Alert Info packet. This worked great for several months but after the latest module updates it is now broken? Please let me know whatever other information you may need.

Thanks
Rob

I am not using any HTML in my Alert Info just text. Does this issue still apply to my problem? Looking at the patch it looks like it removes the extra HTML characters and i am wondering if it will still work in my case.

Thank you for your help!
Rob

Same issue here using Yealink T23, T42, T46. Just curious if you tried the patch?

Whoops. I merged this topic originally thinking it was the other Alert Info one that is going around right now when in reality this was an entirely new issue. https://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-18942

It should be resolved by Monday.

Thank you Andrew! My users will be very happy to hear that this will be resolved soon!

Will this be a module update today?

Waiting for this update as well. Can I roll back a module until it gets fixed ? Any idea which one ? @tm1000

Yes. fwconsole ma downloadinstall MODULENAME --tag the.version.number

From the ticket linked in the ticket it seems like core.

But honestly, IMO I think it’s worth waiting for a fix.

Thanks. Figured it out… and you can do it easier right from the GUI. I did try rolling back core, framework and ringgroups… but… no cigar. Guess I’ll wait for a fix.

core version 14.0.18.46

That’s not available yet… is it ?

If you don’t see it in the normal repo, you can turn on “edge” and you should be able to find it. You can also specify the version number on the “fwconsole ma” command from the console (not Asterisk) CLI.

It’s in edge. Like all new releases

Sorry… didn’t know about “edge”. Thanks

But hold on… If this is a fix to a bug you created… and now fixed… why is it “edge” and not a normal, stable release ?

I didn’t create this bug. This is the normal process.

Well I wasn’t saying you personally… Anyway. Just for the record, the feature works as intended now, after applying the new core version. Thanks for the fix!
