NFS Mounting the /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/ ( and file formats )

would there be issues mounting /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/ off of an NFS server? Are the
real-time ‘.wav’ files written directly to the /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/ directory…
or are they created somewhere else and then moved to that /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/ when the call is complete? I am worried about timing issues writting the files to network mouted
storage.

Would appreciate any info people have on this.

Also… I have a script that coverts my .wav monitior files to ogg and mp3 files for web
streaming… is there a better way than having a 3rd party script do this audio file
conversion… ie. is there a freepbx method to create the monitor files in something other than a .wav file?

Thanks - jack

I would not personally use an NFS mount for your recordings, stale NFS mount points are tricky to overcome. You can use the “run after record” box to have the files copied or moved after they have been closed though.

You would have to edit the code to use other than .wav files for moniror files,

any idea where the ‘run after record’ box might be located on a FreePBX 2.10.1.2 system?
I checked advanced, show hidden, etc… could not find that setting.
