I just submitted a new module on #2787. It allows a FreePBX user to change password without using the Administrators module.
Where I work, the Help Desk manages all password resets, so they need access to the Extensions module. I can’t give them access to the Administrators module, because then they can gain access to any part of FreePBX. However, they still need to change their own FreePBX account passwords. So I put together this little module to allow them to change their passwords.
