It’s been a few years since I built a FreePbx stand alone box. Currently running a stock FreePbx 14 distro. Wanting to upgrade at this point.
For FreePbx 16, which Asterisk version to choose? Pros/Cons, long term support. Our needs are for a basic small office, nothing fancy.

Asterisk 18 makes the most sense for long term (both 16 and 18 are LTS). FreePBX supports both and for basic needs you would not see any difference. Also, with distro, you can switch Asterisk versions using a single command, so you do not need to feel that you are committing forever to the version you pick.
