Need to send different CIDs based on who we are calling

Currently we are using ZAP channel to get out to a voice T1 and we are sending our extension information for CID. I have gotten a request for some users to be able to send a different CID when they want to call a customer so the customer will only see the caller ID information for a number that will feed them back into a customer queue.

My question is what is the easiest way to do this? I was thinking of creating another route and instead of dialing 9 to get out they could dial 8 or some other number to go out with the different CID information, but I wasn’t sure if I could use two routes to go out the same ZAP Channel. If this would work what changes would be required on the new route to send just that number. Does anyone know if this would work or does anyone have a better idea?

  1. You can change the caller ID on the phones in that group
  2. You can add a second line to the phone with its own caller ID
  3. you can purchase the caller ID module and pre fix your call with the call ID number you want to show.
    You have lots of ways to do it.
