We are looking for a way to build a mute feature code instead of using the mute key on the phone.

We’d like to create a feature code, ie *6 to toggle mute while on a call, instead of hitting the physical mute button.
I’m not an expert on every arcane feature of Asterisk, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Asterisk level ‘mute’ feature for an inbound datastream. All of my experience with this is where the phone mute the input and doesn’t send any traffic.
