So I’ve looked all over the internet for an answer to this question. Basically we’re looking to have two asterisk servers connected on the same network with out phones connected to them as primary and alternate servers. The question is, if we have both servers online at the same time trying to register with the same 8x8 trunk would their be any conflicts, or is there possibly a better way to have asterisk server redundancy?
There would indeed be conflicts, the vsp sends the next call to the last server that reregistered, if you want to do that , I would suggest you put a proxy like Kamailio or a cisco voip aware router between your Asterisk boxes and your vsp.
