When I tried to install this update the little window pops up and it scrolls down through a bunch of stuff then hangs. It never gets to the “Return” link to click on. If I try to click the “Apply Changes” red button it blows an error and will not reload. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the module but both fail. I am stuck!!

I had the same thing happen. I ended up downloading the previous module core-2.11.0.0beta1.6.tgz from http://mirror.freepbx.org/modules/release/2.11/ and manually uploading it in order to put things back in order.
so, it is a common problem?
Go back into module admin and check for updates again core 2.11.0.0beta1.8 is now available and should load fine.

I tried that and it says there is a beta1.9 out now but it hangs also. Still no joy… It gives the following error when I hit the red reload button. I uninstalled the campon module and then it complained with the same error on the paging module. Each module I uninstall, it just complains about another one.

You may want to give it another shot, or possibly download the 1.8 release and manually install, then move to 1.9
