Mitel M5360 Configure Warm/Attended Transfer instead of cold/blind transfer

We are using Mitel M5360 phones and by default they have a transfer button at the top when on a call that we can press and transfer a call to another extension however it just sends it off right away. I need to configure “warm transfer” where the call is placed on hold, the other party is rung and you can talk to them and make sure they are ready for the call before sending it through. We also need to be able to resume/take back the call if the other party is not able to take the call.

We are running these version of PBX software:

PBX Version:16.0.40.11
PBX Distro:12.7.8-2306-1.sng7
Asterisk Version:18.20.2

I think I can accomplish this via programmable buttons as the * dial codes but I have tried and cannot exactly figure it out. If anyone can assist it would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so apparently the transfer function supports this within itself the issue was we had only configured the phones with 1 line and they require at least 2 lines in order to talk to another party.

We solved the issue by adding an additional line on the phones.

Howdy! Welcome to the forums.

Glad to know your Mitel phones are working with FreePBX.

Sometimes “warm transfer” is called attended or assisted transfer.

Ah yes! thanks for the welcome and thanks for pointing out the more common terminology it is appreciated!

We have been finding there are solutions for all of our issues within the FreePBX system even if they are not obvious to us at first the system seems highly powerful and configurable.

Take care!
