Message Light Doesn't Go Out on Aastra 6739i + FreePBX

We’re in the process of upgrading our phone system and adding some new phones. We have been running on FreePBX 2.8 or 2.9 (don’t remember) and using Cisco SPA504G phones. That setup has been working fine but we’ve had some requests for nicer phones.

Our new setup is FreePBX 2.10 and we’ve started buying Aastra 6739i phones. It took some reading to figure out to get the XML provisioning to work, but these phones are working great now with one exception: after receiving a message and then deleting it, the message light just won’t go out. As a test, we’ve plugged up one of the older Cisco phones and it works fine.

Some details:

FreePBX: 2.10
Phone: Aastra 6739i with 3.0.1.38 firmware and 3.0.0.221 boot version

If you delete voicemail messages outside of the standard voicemail application then go to Settings -> Voicemail Admin -> Settings. Scroll down and find the the radio button setting for “pollmailboxes”. Set this to yes. You can update “pollfreq” the default is 30 seconds.
