Could you post a listing of the configuration files and the links that were moved and then linked to /etc/asterisk.
I think I’ve got something going on there, and the listing would help…

just take a look at all the files that are under the etc, bin and agi-bin subdirectories of ~modules/core - those are all what get auto-linked. (Same goes for any other module that has such a directory). Well - except agi-bin, those get copied not linked.
