I needed to wait a full day to then use the fqdn for the let’s encrypt. Even though the fqdn did point to the correct place right way and the TTL was set very low, for some reason It still needed to wait a full day before it would work with the freepbx lets encrypt module to get a certificate. possibly all DNS systems needed this info for lets encrypt to verify it was real.
