Is there a way to make a caller listen to the entire message before making a selection

Whenever someone places a call to us, they are sent straight to an IVR to be routed to the proper place. Many people hit the choose the first option no matter what. Is there an option to make a customer listen to the entire message before making a selection or a way to make them wait x amount of seconds before making a selection?

I think you could do it like this:

  1. Create an announcement with the IVR recording
  2. Set “Destination after playback” to the IVR
  3. Remove the IVR announcement from the IVR
  4. Point the Inbound Route to the Announcement created in 1.

Now, The caller hears the IVR announcement, but can’t do anything until it finishes playing and falls through to the IVR menu.
