Is there a limit to how many phones can be paged?

I setup a page group that includes approx 100 phones. When we do a page many of the phones ‘beep’ but not so many hear the person’s voice doing the page. Some get it, many only hear just the ‘beep’. Could it be a software, hardware, or network limitation?

In my experience 20-25 can work. 100 is too many.

I think there are phones like the Polycom that support multicast for paging, but I don’t know what versions of Asterisk support it.

I am always skeptical about how well paging a lot of end points would work. It is hard to get 100’s of end points to all answer exactly at the same exact time all the time.
