We are currently running an Avaya solution on a physical PBX and are looking to switch to FreePBX.
On FreePbx the phone stops ringing while playing queue messages and will play the message to the end whether there is an available agent or not. Is it possible to programme FreePBX to continue ringing while playin queue messages?.
FreePBX queue terminology does not have ‘messages’; there are various kinds of Announements, as well as the Music (which can of course contain spoken content). Which of these are causing trouble?
Please explain your problem in more detail, along with descriptions or screenshots of your queue settings.
Normally, an agent’s phone should not stop ringing unless the call is answered, abandoned by the caller, or the Agent Timeout is reached.
It’s when the queue is playing a “Announce Position” or a “Periodic Announcements” that the phones wont ring until the end of the announcement.
The queue is configured in the gui.
The generated config in queues_additional.conf looks like this.
