Intel processor vulnerabilities 2018

I was wondering what I need to do to protect our FreePBX Distro servers from the recently announced Intel processor vulnerabilities, both exploits (referred to as “Spectre” and “Meltdown”) that were reported by Google Project Zero the other day.

I am assuming I just wait for a FreePBX 13 Distro update that I would apply through system admin??

The same as always.

Thanks Andrew!!

having rkhunter installed prior to an attack, you will likely detect either exploits, if the md5sum of a system binary changes, you will get an email

Some updates on this. If you are running our new FreePBX 7 Distro the fixes are live (in the new kernels).

As for our older CentOS /ShmzOS 6.5 systems this will take us a bit longer to achieve. We will get you more information as the week progresses.
