Installing from Distro - Flickering Screen or Blank Screen

I am trying to install FreePBX Distro onto a new Acer Veriton Model: VN2620GUC887L.

System boots from CD and gives me options to select installation type. Once it goes through initial steps, before entering into blue background options, the screen with start rapidly flickering. I tried using a different monitor, even used DVI and HDMI (no onboard VGA).

Can someone point me in the right direction of how I can install from DVD? Maybe there is a command I need to modify at the selection screen.

After quite a bit of searching, I found that adding the kernel boot option i915.modeset=0 or nomodeset will prevent the bizarre psychedelic flashing that often plagues installations of linux on this pc. This worked on the 4 or 5 distros I tried.

Thanks for any help!

I was able to work around this issue by pressing Tab once Distro loaded and option selected, removing the portion “textvga=normal”, and adding at the end of the string “nomodeset”.

Hope this helps someone else in future!
