So I have a customer that would like to switch their current PBX system to a FreePBX system however my one concern is that they use a doorking 1812-081 telephone entry to open their gate from what I have been told the entry system dials in on one of their lines and then they are able to press 9 to open the gate. Is there any way that I can set this up in freePBX. To function in this way or in a similar fashion?
According to the 1812 installation manual, you should configure it to “Intercom Mode”. Connect it to an FXO port on your FreePBX and you should be able to keep using it as it was used before, assuming you created the trunk, inbound and outbound routes that will be used by the 1812.
