Install Problems - Some firstboot error occured

I have been using vmware esxi for some time now with no problems at all. I just setup a new pbx the same way I do everytime different passwords of course. But I get this error. I have done some searching and can not find any true answer of what is wrong nor how to fix it any help would be amazing!

Here is the Error

Some firstboot error occured, and the system is not properly setup.Check to see if you have internet access and re-run /etc/pbx_first_boot.sh
Press ctrl-alt-f1 to continue

ALSO I DO HAVE INTERNET

You might have INTERNETY, currently though kickstart.freepbxdistro.org does not, please wait till it comes back online

No kickstart.freepbxdistro.org does have internet. I just did 2 installs.

It is working now. I have not changed one thing. Very very odd!

Yet from my part of the internet . . .

traceroute kickstart.freepbxdistro.org

returns

Methinks you guys should check with your uplink provider cyberlynk.net, that all thir routing tables are correct.

(I also have internet connectivity, but the pbx_firstboot script has been failing for me and several others apparently for a couplke of days)

That is 100% correct for a traceroute. It gets to our edge router.

at this point in time it is now possible to get the firstboot file, until one hour ago it was not.

Ok well glad its working. Not sure why their was a problem but I do know one of the data centers was having a issue with Time Warner so they pulled them out of the BGP. Wonder if your ISP at the time was not honoring the BGP updates.

I do my own bgp, so I don’t think that’s the case, but as you say it is now fixed.

Does anyone know if the kickstart is currently down? been trying to do an install for an hour and keep getting the error described…

btw, I can traceroute fine to static.66.185.29.241.cyberlynk.net (66.185.29.241) but I can’t ping the kickstart…

We dont allow pings to any of our servers. And yes its up. Plus kickstart is part of the ISO now. What version are you trying to install?

I had thought the latest, I’ve built two systems since august with the USB key I’m using and both went fine, I checked the distro website and the latest version had a date of august 2013.

I was trying to install with the Asterisk 11 option.

Bah… dumb mistake… hard coded the IP from the get go and forgot DNS…
