Inbound Anonymous CID Route failure


Not sure if the subject line quite describes my problem or not, so here we go…

We are running Trixbox 2.2 with FreePBX 2.3. we are using an external USB Xorcom BRI gateway for our call handling.

We have several inbound call routes setup as we run a Sales, Accounts and Helpdesk department and normally they all work fine.

However, when someone withholds there phone number the phones are displaying Anonymous for the inbound route and also Anonymous for the phone number. All though I have no problem with not knowing the inbound call number the Anonymous inbound route id is causing a problem as no one knows who the call is for.

Can anyone let me know if there is a fix for this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basically “Unknown”, “Private” calls don’t end up following the inbound route rules. You can catch them by enabling the privacy manager, but you cannot set a destination via the GUI or anything like that.

The recent Nerd Vittles post covers anonymous CID too.

I figured only home uses such as myself had in interest in blocking/routing these types of nuisance calls.
