How to show friendly messages on phone instead of sip responses

Hi,

I have configured a new FreePBX15 for replacing an old FreePBX13. We use Snom phones, and we get not very friendly messages on screen when calls are not bee stablished, like “408 Request Timeout”.

Can I configure friendly messages to show on teh screen?

Regards

Wouldn’t it the task of the Snome phone to interpret the SIP response codes?

Sorry, I don’t understand your question. What do you mean?

Regards

You need to solve this in the phone, not in the PABX.

OK, so, any idea how to do thins on the phone? In this case, most of teh phones are SNOM deskphones.
Thanks.

If you do something, then Asterisk will give the Snom phone a status code. These status codes are more or less standardized. That makes sense as nobody will understand the any custom stuff, even if you think there is no better solution.

Have a look at this:

and check whether you can do something with it. The phone is the place to take care of this kind of customization.

Yes!!! Thanks a lot! This is exactly what I need!

Thanks again!

The customizability of snom phones in general is just amazing. Didn’t know this was possible, but very good to know.
