I am using the Extension Routes option so that all 1xxx extensions go out one Outbound route and all of the 2xxx extensions go out another one so the correct callerID gets set. (Two different companies). When I try to dial a cell phone either by adding the number+# or using a Misc Destination the call is never dialed. I think it is falling through because the callerID (outside number calling in) does not match an extension number. How do I create an outbound route that bypasses that?
Agreed. Your provider may be limiting what you can send as valid Caller ID. Do you have a ticket open with them ? (More logs might also help e.g. placing cleaned copies in pastebin.freepbx.org)
This has nothing to do with the provider. This has to do with extension routes which is based on the extension callerid. FollowMe/forwarding keeps the original CID thus not matching as an extension that can use either of those routes.
Logs would be helpful to see what is happening.
I was able to resolve the issue by removing the Extension routing module and using pattens like 1XXX and 2XXX in the dial plans. This way the calls still go out with the proper callerID attached and the calls to cell phones works.
