So I know the actual answer to this question is “It depends” but I’ve got a FreePBX system that hasn’t had any updates run on it or it’s modules in I think over 2 years. In the PBX it shows the following:
Current PBX Version:14.0.13.34
Current System Version:12.7.6-1904-1.sng7
Modules with Upgrades:83
So I’m just looking for a ballpark, am I going to need 1 hour for this, 4 hours, 8 hours?
During the module upgrades will the PBX continue to function?
Depends on your system (ram/cpu etc) and your internet connection. I would say 30-60 minutes is generally reasonable but maybe under 10 minutes in most cases. Give yourself some padding.
To update for the most part you don’t need to reboot or stop asterisk during the update. You may wish to reload after but worse case timing wise will be however long it takes you to restart asterisk if you even need to.
