How can I make Mitel 5312, 5330, 5212 and 5215 phones work with FreePBX

Hello,

I’ve looked everywhere and found bits and pieces of information on the web to get Mitel phones working with FreePBX. I have four Mitel deployments with over 400 phones total. Don’t feel like continuing Mitel path and am considering to deploy FreePBX based solution at 50+ locations globally. I could use some help from the community. Not shy of working but just can’t find the right information. Any lead will be much appreciated.

So far, I am able to get the latest SIP firmware (SIP R8.0.04.00.00.23 and boot 04.00.00.05)

I am using latest FreePBX distro as of 10-30-11. Using the Endpoint manager, I have been able to provision a Mitel 5312 phone to pick up the config and load up but I am unable to make it work beyond that.

a. The phone does not show up in asterisk as registered
b. when I dial an extension I get a busy tone and message 'No proxy configured’
c. Is the above mentioned firmware the latest of there is a later release available?

TFTP folder: (None of these files were included in the SIP firmware provided by the Mitel reseller) I was able to get hold of Mitel MCD 4.1 SP2 (version 10.2.0.26_2) and these files were in the file tftp_ip.tar in that package.

-rw-r-xr-x 1 asterisk asterisk 16192 Oct 30 08:09 L2Boot53xxTtn8M.bin
-rw-r-xr-x 1 asterisk asterisk 1043616 Oct 30 08:11 BootIp5324Ttn.bin
-rw-r-xr-x 1 asterisk asterisk 5464920 Oct 30 08:15 MainIp5324Ttn.bin
-rw-r-xr-x 1 asterisk asterisk 200636 Oct 30 08:33 sip5324ttnlang_en_US.bin

Did you set your DHCP to hand out Option 66?

If you connect to the phones web interface is any of the provisioning picked up?

I fixed your message, did you not notice the tags did not post correctly?

If you want help you need to answer my questions.

If you navigate to the phones web interface is the line information provisioned?

Sorry i was caught up with other tasks and did not get a chance to re-visit this forum. Thank you for fixing up the message too.

I was able to register the phone by editing the standard template. Had to change the MN_$mac.cfg for key ‘25’. feature ‘6’ i had to set the user={$ext.line.1} and the line registered properly.

What would you recommend to setup 2nd line. (such that if first line is busy and a second call comes in the user can answer by simply clicking the line-2 key on the phone.

Any recommendations?

Kind regards

I sent my test Mitel to the developer of the Endpoint module for his testing.

Will coordinate with him.

Dear tadpole.

I’ve got maybe this firmware, but, there is one file which is missing: sip5324ttnlang_en_US.bin
After update, the phone boot up, but looking for this file in tftp server, but I haven’t got it :(, and can’t find it anywhere :o. Could you please send me, or give me a link, where I can download it, please? This one file is enough for me, but if you can send me the whole package that will be great.

Thank you very much.

Best Regards: Robert

You mentioned in your post that you have this firmware (SIP R8.0.04.00.00.23 and boot 04.00.00.05). Can I get that from you or a link to download it from?

Thanks
