Help with iSymphony Jabber Settings

Taffman, the XMPP module is a commercial module, unless you have purchased a license (see these instructions http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FCM/FreePBX+Commercial+Modules+Home) even if installed the module will look for a valid license.

iSymphony is a desktop operator panel, Prosody and XMPP is an IM server. You can use the XMPP module to configure the chat in iSymphony.

The demo client license of iSymphony allows you to test and play with the features of iSymphony prior to purchasing a full license for the product.

You can view details on the XMPP chat management module here: http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FCM/XMPP+Chat+Management

The demo client license of iSymphony doesn't appear to let me test anything! I can add "Global Jabber setting" but they don't appear to do anything. Maybe I would purchase XMPP if I could use the demo single user iSymphony licence so i can see what it does (or someone tells me what exactly it will give me). My point is, nothing I do with iSymphony seems to demo anything that I can see, I just see iSymphony Server running with a single user licence, and no Jabber credentials I provide seems to do anything?

iSymphony does not include a jabber server, that is prosedy, and you must purchase a $20 XMPP management license to utilize the XMPP settings in the extension module.

The iSymphony demo client does not give you all the functionality of the full license. If you want I can get you a trial license, just fill out the request demo link on the schmoozecom.com website I’ll be happy to arrange the trial.

Thanks for the explanation Preston, I got totally confused with this.
You say that “The iSymphony demo client does not give you all the functionality of the full license” can you tell me what functionality this demo version does give?

My Asterisk PBX is installed in my home office right now and I’m using it as a self training machine therefore I won’t waste your time asking for a trial licence, but thanks for the offer. If I ever find myself in a commercial environment, I’ll certainly consider this.

I think I’ve discovered a reason why iSymphony demo client doesn’t appear to work on my system. I can now see that the Asterisk module res_jabber.so is missing from my modules directory. Does anyone know how I can re install it?
