As of this morning 011117 a client was called on her cell phone by a one of her clients that her business phone wasn’t receiving any calls. I called all of her DID’s (3) and Allison says the number is “not in service”. Looking at the Asterisk logs specifically shows the traffic being rejected from the trunks IP. I checked the firewall and Fail2Ban and there are no blocked IP’s. Turned the firewall off…no change. Installed updates, patches and firmware to 10.13.66-17 and no change. Client can make outbound calls. FreePBX system is 13.0.190.7, Asterisk version is 13.13.1. The traffic is hitting the switch, but being rejected. Nothing has changed on this switch setting wise for months. This just started this morning out of the blue. Codecs are ALAW and ULAW. Called carrier and they see the traffic completing successfully.
Appreciate any help…
Answer…
This was a fun way to waste four hours…after booting, updating, rebooting, reconfiguring the asterisk log kept saying “rejected”. I had turned off the firewall early on and nothing changed, but…
I changed the firewall action to “drop” and the calls started coming in. Just for grins I changed the firewall back to “reject”, calls were still coming in.
Don’t know how wide spread this is, but this system definitely reflected some challenges with the firewall.
Clients fixed!
