Getting to know the system

Hello.

The company I’m with recently began supporting an existing phone system running FreePBX 2.10.1.9 and Asterisk 1.8.15.0.

I’m new to these systems right now, but my goal is to become comfortable making changes to the system, and to have an idea of where to look and what to do when an issue comes up.

Other than the FreePBX WIKI, what are some reading materials I should be looking in to?

What technical understandings would be considered prerequisite to maintaining such a phone system?
