It would be great if, in addition to the regular backup, there was a way to do a complete image backup of a PBX. Is there a way to do this? If so, is there a guide somewhere online? I saw a post from a few years back on this but I am not familiar with some of options that were talked about.
If a cloud or on-site VM, use the snapshot feature of the virtualization system.
For bare metal, use Clonezilla or similar.

Twice I did an “image” backup/restore using rsync over SSH. It’s “old school” but it works!
Linux tends to be fairly forgiving as long as you are not trying to deal with a bunch of locked files. So stop all your services before taking an image.
