I have a spurious reoccuring problem, which seems to be limited to 1 particular extension. I have compared Phone and Freepbx setups with another working extension and everything is fine…
Basically the FOP shows this extension off the hook, also showing a time value, however the extension isnt off the hook and can be called, however when in this state the voicemail doesn’t apear to function.
I have come across a few old posts indicating the FOP has a number of issues, therefore shoudl only be used as a indicator, however in my case i believe there is an underlying problem as the functionallity of this extension changes…
The only solution to this problem seems to be a reboot of the PBX
Any suggestions on avenues to explore would be appreciated
Sir, please reread your message. You gave us know data, FreePBX, FOP and Asterisk version are a must.
You should never have to reboot the PBX, you can restart Asterisk if you have to. A ‘core show channels’ should give you an idea what is going on under the hood.
I would invest in FOP2, it is far more reliable.
A valid question…
Asterisk Ver. 22.214.171.124
I will review “core show channels” output, thanks for your advise
The problem has reoccured again today, and running core show channels produces
Channel Location State Application(Data)
SIP/351-00000326 [email protected]:1 Up AppDial((Outgoing Line))
There is no call in progress, yet ext 351 shows off the hook in the FOP
Any suggestions as to how to diagnose teh root problem would be appreciated
